Lottodog - using science to pick the best lottery numbers for bigger wins
The founders of Lottodog are Kathryn Graddy, Professor of Applied Economics at Oxford University and Alex Appleby, an investor with years (even decades) of experience in the financial markets. Lottodog grew out of a project started in April 2005 when the UK National Lottery had a series of rollovers which sparked our interest. As we assembled a database to track historical lottery activity and built the analytical tools to understand it, we began to see some patterns that would predict which numbers the majority of lottery players would choose.
Soon it was clear we had developed a powerful ability to predict the expected prize for every number combination in the lottery. We decided to offer this to other lottery players at a price low enough to be a bit of fun (which is what the lottery should be) but high enough to cover our costs and to make sure people won't waste the numbers.
We keep working on adding new lotteries, so please let us know if there is one you would like us to work on. We also re-run our analysis from time to time as more data builds up. This ensures that our numbers are current and that we are using all the data available for our analysis. We can also track any changing habits of lottery players. If you want to stay current, check back about every year or so, maybe just before your birthday!
